Jim Solomon King In New Castle Fall Ringer Roundup
Jim Solomon
of Uniontown, Pa. capped an outstanding 1977 season in New Castle on September
25th when he trounced 7 straight opponents to grab top honors in the
New Castle Club’s annual Fall Roundup Tournament. Jim needed a win in the final game with second seeded Clyde
Martz. He opened the contest with 23
ringers in the first 24 shoes and closed with 16 straight doubles for 65 out of
70 and 92.8%. Martz and Solomon
four-deaded 8 consecutive times while Jim was stuck on 49.
