Bruce Playoff Winner Of Van Buren Open

 

    Clair Bruce of New Castle defeated Rich Maroni of Arnold in a playoff to win the championship of the 1973 Van Buren Open tournament.  The event was held at the Van Buren Park horseshoe courts in Vanport, Pa. 

    Bruce beat Maroni 50-23 while setting a new single game average of 78.3%

    The Ladies class was won by Edith Werth of Lockport, NY.  Mrs. Werth was undefeated while averaging 49%.
