January Red Mill Open Classes Won By Two Named Clyde
Clyde Martz of Pittsburgh narrowly edged out his opponents to win his second winter tournament at the Red mill Horseshoe Club of Washington, Pa. Close on his heels were Al Zadroga and Dale Carson. The games of these three were so close that any one of them could have won the championship with just a few breaks. Oscar Engle gamely pitched in this tournament even though his foot was injured in a freak accident before the tournament. Buck jokingly served notice to all the pitchers that bombed him by saying, “Be ready next month fellows.” Those of us who know him well are not so sure he was joking.
