Martz Establishes Personal High In Winning Memorial Day Red Mill Invitational
While winning an impromptu tournament held on Memorial Day at the Red Mill Horseshoe Club of Washington, Pa., Clyde Martz set a new personal high of 85.8%. Close at his heels were Howard Shriver and Oscar Engel who almost nipped him in the final phases of the tournament. Jim Solomon had a few bad games in the beginning, but managed to come out of it in the final game while edging out Engle in the longest and most exciting game of the tournament – 126 shoes and 102 ringers (81%) for both players.
