Shriver – February Open Champion at Washington, Pa.
Howard Shriver, West Virginia State Champion, captured his first Washington winter tournament by edging out Clyde Martz and Jim Solomon in the final phase of this February event. Howard was exceptionally tough when he had to be, winning the games when the chips were really down. Some of the boys from Pa now understand why this man is truly a champion. Al Zadroga and Frank Kilinsky also shot very well.
Class
B was won by John Ruskin of Pittsburgh by going undefeated, and Class C by
Clyde Falk of Pittsburgh, also undefeated.
