Oscar Engle – Winner Of December Red Mill Open

In the final tournament of the 1969 Pennsylvania horseshoe season, Oscar Engle of Beechview, Pennsylvania hammered out a close victory over Howard Shriver, the defending champ.  Ottie Reno of Lucasville, Ohio, captured Class B.

In the Class A playoffs, Shriver defeated Engle, but then lost to Martz.  However, Martz had already lost to Rainbow, which resulted in another playoff between Hoard and Oscar.  Engle then poured on the ringers in a tremendous game.
