Solomon in Play-off Victory Over Engle for Red Mill March Open Title

James Solomon of Uniontown, Pa, won the class A division of the March Open held March 18^th and 19^th.

The tournament was held by the Red Mill Horseshoe Club of Washington, Pennsylvania.

Solomon won by defeating Oscar Engle of Pittsburgh in a playoff game with a final ringer percentage of 76.8. Engle finished second with a 75.1% and had the high game with 46 out of 56 for 82.1%.

Class B winner was Rich Maroni of Arnold, Pa with an average of 64.9%. Frank Kilinsky of Canonsburg, took runner-up honors with a 71.3% average and high game of 79.3%.

Vernon Wllington of Washington, Pa. took the Class C title by winning all his game with a ringer average of 62.1%. Al Booth also of Washington was runner up with a ringer percentage of 61.8. High game was established by Carl Nagode of Cannonsburg, by accumulating 33 out of 36 for 71.7%.

Class D winner was Charles Sowa of Ardara with John Barnhart of Dunns Station as runner up.

Clyde Sprowls of West Finley took first position in Class E and Nick Wohar of Daisytown took 2^nd.

Winner in F was John Chernay of Daisytown with John Beck of Washington as runner up. Joe Shady and George Dalanch, both local Canonsburg keglers, also participated as new comers in F with ringer percentages of 28.5 and 31.9 respectively.
