Dan Kuchcinski, Upset Title Winner in Erie, Pa. County Meet

 

    Fifteen-year-old Danny Kuchcinski pulled a major upset when he won the Class A championship in the Erie County Horseshoe tournament at Glenwood Park, Erie, Pa.

    Young Danny posted a perfect 7-0 record en route to his stunning victory.  In his last game, he nudged Francis White, 50-49, in his closest game of the event.

    Danny finished with a 72.1 ringer percentage.

    Joe Peters finished second to Danny with a 6-1 ledger while Wes Kuchcinski, Glen Sebring and Jack Potter all closed with 4-3 marks.

    Elmer Semock won one Class B title with a 6-1 mark with Joe Kuchcinski Jr. copped the other B toga with a 7-0 standard.

    Frank Sirak of Fairview and I.C. Smith annexed the two class C crowns with respective 6-1 and 5-1 records while C. Bell took Class D with 4-1.
