Steinfeldt New Eastern National Crown Holder
Carl Steinfeldt of Rochester, NY, won the Eastern National Horseshoe crown with a victory over Canadian champ Elmer Hohl at the Glenwood pits.
Steinfeldt
posted a 90.6 percentage of ringers in the long, hard-fought match, which
decided the title. Earlier Erie’s Wes
Kuchcinski had handed Hohl his first defeat in the double elimination affair.
Steinfeldt’s
lone loss was to Jim Solomon of Uniontown, Pa.
Sam
Sutton, Washington, Pa., posted a 76.4 ringer average to sweep Class AA. Herman Boyer of Beaver Falls won the Class A
title while Bob Bird of Pittsburgh led in Class B.
