Al Zadroga, Pennsylvania Southpaw, Allegheny County Titleholder

Albert Zadroga, a left-hander from Elizabeth, defeated Clyde Martz of Whitehall to become the Class A champion of Allegheny County.  Zadroga was undefeated in the competition while displaying his talent, which earned him third place in Class B at the W.T. of 1960.

A terrific struggle between Joseph Brody and Frank Kilinsky in Class B ended with Brody winning first place and Kilinsky placing second.  Robert Werner and William Cahill Jr. played one of the most exciting games of the tournament in class C.  Werner defeated Cahill by a score of 50-48 in the pitch-off.  Charles Frable won class D with Thomas Tarker placing second.  John Regan of Mt. Washington defeated Lindsey Wilson to win the class E championship.

A total of 33 men qualified for this tournament; a much larger number than expected.  The Dormont Horseshoe Club, managed by Mike Riedl, plans to make this an annual affair and hopes to accommodate even more pitchers next year.  Top finalists in all classes follow:
